"Making Pillows from Handwovens"
by Randee Griffin

Instructions on various methods of creating pillows to include zipper insertions, knife edge, welted edge, pillow slip style. How to stabilize hand wovens to treat as fabric will also be covered.

Vista Fiber Arts Fiesta

Fiber artists, guilds, and vendors will be at the Fiesta showcasing their work, demonstrating their skills, and selling their creations, wearable art, and supplies. Our local fiber artists will also be selling their finished work.
Event admission and museum admission are free. Parking is $5.00 per vehicle.

Classes On Demand

Following classes are organized on demand and require minimum of four(4) students. Contact the Museum Education Office (760) 941-1791 with any questions.

Spinning with Cheryl Goyer
- Dates to be determined
Spinning is the basis of all yarn construction. In this class students will learn the basics of spinning yarn on a spinning wheel using sheep's wool.

Beginning Weaving - 4 Shaft Table Looms with Karen Greeley
- Dates to be determined
This is an intensive class suitable for students who are interested in learning to warp and weave on 4-shaft table looms. In the process students will learn weaving terminology, basics of reading weaving drafts, and have the opportunity to learn about the different types of looms and equipment in the Weavers Barn at the Museum. It is recommended that students have some prior weaving experience with rigid heddle, inkle, or other simple loom weaving.
