Class Information:
This is a beginning level class emphasizing fundamental weaving skills and techniques using 4-shaft looms. On Saturday and Sunday students will plan a project, warp a table loom, and begin to weave a sampler which will be completed the following Saturday. In the process students will learn weaving terminology, basics of reading weaving drafts, and have the opportunity to learn about the different types of looms and equipment in the Weavers Barn at the Museum. This is an intensive class suitable for students who are interested in learning to warp and weave on 4-shaft looms. It is recommended that students have some prior weaving experience with rigid heddle, inkle, or other simple loom weaving.
